Trumps plan expansion at Doonbeg golf resort as losses narrow to €1.6m

The business was hit by Covid, but has since significantly increased its number of staff

Losses fell to €1.6 million last year at the luxury Doonbeg golf resort in Clare, which is owned by former US president Donald Trump.

New accounts for the company which operates the resort show revenues nearly doubled to €7.2 million in 2021, compared to €3.8 million in 2020.

The firm recorded an operating profit of €510,000 in 2021, compared to an operating loss of nearly €2 million the year before.
