Top executives stand down from embattled wind farm giant Orsted

Danish-headquartered firm has a number of projects in Ireland but has abandoned strategic developments in the US

Rising costs and significant debt are putting a strain on renewable energy companies

Orsted, the embattled wind park developer, said two top executives will step down as the company fights to recover from huge losses connected to abandoned projects.

Daniel Lerup, chief financial officer, and Richard Hunter, chief operating officer, are leaving with “immediate effect,” the Danish wind developer said in a statement on Tuesday.
