TikTok to introduce text-based content

Video-based platform says pivot will give ‘written creativity a space to shine’

TikTok has launched text-only posts in a bid to keep pace in the race to innovate among social media giants.

The new format will allow users to create text-based content, such as recipes, poetry and stories, “giving the written creativity we’ve seen in comments, captions, and videos a dedicated space to shine”, the video platform said.
