The next few weeks will be important for Irish businesses with the government drawing up a support package to help offset rising costs. We reveal today that while a new Vat cut for hospitality is off the table, plans are afoot to develop a PRSI rebate scheme which should ease the burden.

At the same time, many firms which availed of the Covid debt warehousing scheme will be in the final stages of working on arrangements with Revenue. As we report, other employers are making the decision to wind up their operations as they see no way of making those repayments.
