The European Parliament’s Environment committee has failed to reach agreement on the Nature Restoration Law

The European Parliament’s Environment committee has failed to reach agreement on the Nature Restoration Law, following a key vote today.

The law proposes targets for restoration of nature across Europe, with specific targets around the rewetting of peatlands, including some that are currently in agricultural use. The rewetting of agricultural land has proved particularly controversial in Ireland.
