‘There’s pain and blood behind money laundering’: Ireland bids to host EU’s new dirty money watchdog

Choosing Dublin as the location for the EU’s anti-money laundering body would place the new watchdog at the “nexus of innovation” and take Ireland’s commitment to the European Union “to the next level”, MEPs were told on Tuesday.

Speaking before a joint public hearing of the European Parliament and Council on Tuesday, Michael McGrath, the finance minister, made Ireland’s case to locate the soon-to-be established Anti-Money Laundering Authority in Dublin’s Docklands.
