Paddy Hayes has one of the most challenging jobs in the energy industry.

As chief executive of ESB, he is charged with leading one of the most important companies in Ireland’s energy transition. ESB is also investing €1 billion in its network to facilitate national climate ambitions, and to reach its own goal of being net zero by 2040.

“The future is electric and a lot of the decarbonisation solutions are around electrification. So when you look at the purpose of our organisation, there is a real opportunity to make a difference,” Hayes told the Business Post in a sit down interview.
