AIB is playing a crucial role in the future of Thames Water as it is one of the key financiers owed £190 million (€221.3 million) by the utility’s parent company.

According to reports, the loan is due to be repaid by Kemble Water Finance at the end of April. If it is not repaid the company goes into default and risks being forced into administration, deepening the crisis surrounding Britain's biggest water company.
