Ten million flock to Meta’s rival to Twitter, says Zuckerberg

Threads, created by the owners of Facebook and Instagram, went live in the UK at midnight on Thursday, but is not yet available in the EU

Meta’s new app that has been billed as a rival to Twitter saw over 10 million people join in its first few hours, according to the firm’s chief Mark Zuckerberg.

Threads, which will join Facebook and Instagram in the social media giant’s suite of platforms, went live in the UK at midnight on Thursday.
