Tech struggles wipe out 14 years of unbroken multinational jobs growth – IDA

New figures show net loss of 1,000 jobs in multinational sector in 2023 – first time since 2009 that the figure has been in the red

Ireland recorded a net loss of more than 1,000 jobs in the multinational sector in 2023, as swingeing cuts across the tech sector brought to an end 14 years of uninterrupted growth.

IDA Ireland this morning confirmed that 16,843 roles were created by multinational companies between October 2022 and 2023, and that 17,857 had been lost – meaning a total net loss of 1,014 jobs.
