Tax revenue €4 billion ahead of 2022 but Michael McGrath warns of ‘unsustainable’ corporate receipts

Tax revenue now stands more than €4 billion ahead of last year, according to new figures from the Department of Finance.

However it has also been noted that a considerable portion of the increase is driven by “potentially unsustainable corporation tax receipts.”

Exchequer figures show that tax revenues to end-July were €47.8 billion, up by €4.3 billion or 10 per cent on last year.
