A Green Party TD has won his case challenging the constitutionality of a trade deal between the European Union and Canada.

Government TD Patrick Costello took the case against the state in 2021 due to his concerns over the constitutionality of investor courts provided for under the EU-Canada Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (Ceta). He lost his High Court case last year but appealed it to the Supreme Court.
