State to focus on price of ‘staple goods’ like bread and toothpaste in talks with supermarkets

Neale Richmond, the minister of state with responsibility for retail, has said the government will focus on the price of “staple goods” – like bread, mince and toothpaste – at a meeting with retailers today.

Richmond will meet with supermarkets at the retail forum, the quarterly forum between government and retailers, on Wednesday to discuss the high prices of groceries.
