State support key to recovery from future economic crises - ESRI

The body contrasted the state’s response to the financial crash with the significant support given to workers and businesses during the pandemic

Generous state supports were at the heart of the “remarkable” recovery in the labour market after the pandemic, new research has found.

The report by the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI) and the Irish Human Rights and Equality Commission (IHREC) contrasted the level of state supports given during the pandemic with that of the 2008 financial crisis.
