The state spent €855 million on housing asylum seekers and Ukrainians in the first nine months of 2023, more than its total outlay in all of 2022, a Business Post analysis has found.

New data released by the Department of Integration on accommodation and services fees means the state’s total outlay since the beginning of 2021 has now exceeded €2.3 billion.
