Spotify to hike US premium plans by $1 a month
Streaming giant had held off on increasing prices even as other companies like Apple and Amazon had made move
Spotify is planning to implement a $1 a month increase in the price of its premium subscription, the ad-free version of its music and podcast service, in the US.
The timing of the increase – which would boost the price to about $11 a month – isn’t definite, but could be announced as early as next week, a person familiar with the company’s thinking, who asked not to be identified, told Bloomberg.
