Sipo clears Paschal Donohoe for failing to declare Michael Stone donations

The Fine Gael minister was forced to amend statement to Standards in Public Office Commission in January

Paschal Donohoe has been cleared by Sipo which found the complaint against him was ‘not of sufficient gravity’ to warrant an investigation.

Paschal Donohoe has been cleared by the political ethics watchdog over his failure to declare election expenses covered by a businessman and party donor.

A statement from Fine Gael said that the Standards in Public Office Commission (Sipo) had written to the public expenditure minister earlier this week to inform him that the matter was “not of sufficient gravity” to warrant investigation.
