Carlow-Kilkenny TD hoping to contest five-seater alongside party’s Paul Gavan in June’s European elections

Sinn Féin TD Kathleen Funchion is to seek her party’s nomination to contest the Ireland South European Parliament constituency.

In a statement, Funchion, who was first elected TD for Carlow-Kilkenny in 2016, said she wanted to “ensure the European Union gets back to basics, focusing on issues such as poverty, inequality, tackling the cost of living and investing in regional development.”
