Sinn Féin have called for the bank levy revenue target to be doubled to €400 million, after Bank of Ireland reported a pre-tax profit of €1.94 billion for 2023.

Speaking on RTÉ News at One, Pearse Doherty, the party’s finance spokesperson, said that those who carried the bank through “harsh times” should also benefit from the banks’ improved performance, as well as the their shareholders.
