Simon Harris warns RTÉ ‘clear’ reform plan needed to unlock interim government funding
The recent controversy at the broadcaster has led a dramatic fall in TV licences being bought
Minister for Further and Higher Education Simon Harris has warned RTÉ it needs to develop a “clear reform plan” before interim funding for the broadcaster will be approved by government.
Harris said the broadcaster had gone through a period of “huge upheaval” during which public trust had been eroded.
“Government now awaits to hear from RTE, from the new leadership team there, from the board as to their plan,” Harris told reporters on Wednesday.
