Simon Harris vows to ‘stand up for’ Ireland amid French bid to harmonise corporation tax

The move is part of a proposed reform of the European Union’s capital markets

There is “widespread concern” over French-led moves to harmonise corporation taxes and beef up the EU’s Paris-based markets regulator, the Taoiseach has said.

Ahead of a summit of EU leaders on Thursday, Simon Harris said he would “stand up” for Ireland’s financial sector amid tensions over how to take forward a reform of capital markets.
