Silicon Valley acquisition of Athone-based Sidero referred to Irish competition authority

A deal to buy Sidero, an Athlone-based software engineering company, has been referred to the competition authority.

Sidero, which is led by chief executive by Carmel Owens, is being bought by GlobalLogic, a Hitachi group company headquartered in Silicon Valley, which operates design studios and engineering centres around the world.

According to the website of the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, the deal has been referred to it for examination. As part of phase one ...
