‘Significant change’ needed to meet living wage target by 2026

The government will need to make a “significant change” to the minimum wage in each of the next two budgets to meet its living wage target by 2026, the Low Pay Commission has said.

Last November, the government announced plans to introduce a national living wage by January 2026, which would be set at 60 per cent of hourly median wages.
