Scheme launched to provide pensions for long-term carers

Heather Humphreys, the minister for social protection, has announced the timeline for the payment of supports announced as part of this year’s budget.

On Thursday, around 120,000 carers will receive a lump sum payment of €400.

Between Wednesday and Friday, a €200 lump sum payment will be made to around 240,000 people in receipt of the living alone allowance.
