The Department of Foreign Affairs has hit back at a threatening statement from the Russian Embassy, saying its disinformation will have “no impact” on Ireland’s “unwavering” support for Ukraine.

On Friday, the embassy released a statement condemning Micheál Martin, the Tánaiste and Minister for Foreign Affairs, for describing Finbar Cafferkey, an Irishman who died fighting for Ukraine last week, as a “young man of clear principles”.
