RTÉ to show 19 weeks of games in bid to avoid GAAGo debacle

The GAA and RTÉ will be keen to avoid a repeat of last year’s controversy over the number of free-to-air games available for viewers

Half of hurling’s Munster Championship will be available on free-to-air television this year, including Limerick’s first two games in late April.

RTÉ has released its schedule of matches with coverage of the GAA’s hurling and football championships set to begin on April 7 with the Ulster championship fixture between Cavan and Monaghan.

The Dublin footballers will be on show a week later against either Meath or Longford with the heavyweight clash of Derry and Donegal ...
