Insurance Ireland has published a new code of practice around mortgage protection insurance for cancer survivors following months of controversy around survivors being denied equal access to cover.

The move follows revelations in the Business Post around industry efforts to delay and deter planned legislation to stop companies and banks penalising cancer survivors after the government stalled a Seanad bill from its own senators.
