Rent caps ‘impeding’ Ireland’s ability to attract property investment

Rent caps are impeding Ireland’s attractiveness as a destination for property investors, according to Stephen Garvey, chief executive of property developer Glenveagh.

Garvey said the amount of capital required was the biggest challenge to housing targets, and that policymakers had to be conscious of the global “competition for capital”.
