Regional airports to benefit from €11m state funding

The grant allocation has been divided across Donegal, Shannon, Kerry and Knock airports for safety and security costs

Today’s funding will support eligible salary costs in the areas of safety, security and air traffic control in 2023.

Funding of over €11 million has been announced for regional airports across the state by Jack Chambers, the minister of state at the department of transport.

The grant allocation has been divided across Donegal, Shannon, Kerry and Knock airports.

The funding - which comes after calls for increased investment in Irish aviation outside of Dublin Airport - includes €7.1 million for Shannon, €1.8 million for Knock, €1.4 million for Kerry, and €700,000 for Donegal.
