Tánaiste Micheál Martin blew the debate over Cork GAA’s proposed renaming of the city’s iconic Páirc Uí Chaoimh stadium wide open when he waded into the row to express his dissatisfaction.

“Deeply disappointed & annoyed at the proposal to change the name of Páirc Uí Chaoimh,” Martin said in a post on X of the plans to rebrand the stadium as ‘SuperValu Páirc’.
