A record-breaking number of electric vehicles (EVs) were registered last month, according to the society of the Irish motor industry (SIMI).

Over 27,000 new cars registered were registered in July, according to the group, marking an increase of 23.9 per cent year-on-year and bringing the total numbers of vehicles registered this to 87,115 - up one fifth on the same time in 2022.
