Proposals to reduce benefits for Ukrainian refugees arriving in Ireland are to be discussed by the government this week as the country faces a severe shortage of accommodation for other nationalities claiming asylum.

The cabinet committee on Ukraine is to meet on Monday where a proposal from Roderic O’Gorman, the minister for integration, is to be discussed before going to the full cabinet on Tuesday.
