Profits halve at Coillte as value of wood-based construction materials shrink
The state-owned forestry firm said it expected the longer-term outlook for these products to improve as consumers demand lower-carbon materials
Coillte, the state-owned forestry company, reported a near halving of its profits, as global headwinds led to a collapse in the value of its construction products.
The body reported a €61 million profit last year, down from €119 million the year before, with a revenue of €414 million, down from €479 million in 2022.
Earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation (Ebitda) was also down to €106 million from €157 million the year before.
