Price inflation cools to 2.2 per cent in February – CSO flash reading

New data shows transport costs were up 3.3 per cent in the month

Costs in Ireland are estimated to have risen by 2.2 per cent in the 12 months to February, down from the 2.7 per cent annual rise in January.

According to new data from the the Central Statistics Office (CSO), the EU Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) was up 0.9 per cent since January, with transport costs up 3.3 per cent in the month, along with food and energy prices both up 0.5 per cent.
