Price gouging by hotels ‘does industry no service’, warns tourism body chief

Hotels inflating prices during busy periods are damaging the reputation of the industry, the chief executive of the Irish Tourism Industry Confederation (ITIC) has said.

“I do think it’s a small minority of operators. They catch all the media headlines, they do the industry no service at all. Those minority of operators are certainly not reflective of the broader industry,” Eoghan O’Mara Walsh told the Business Post.
