Scheme which used revenues for cost of living supports and may have raised up to €150 million will not be extended
The government’s price cap on electricity has come to an end after just seven months in operation and will not be extended, the Business Post can reveal.
Following advice from the European Commission, the government has decided not to renew its cap on the cost of electricity, which may have raised up to €150 million from prices that exceeded the cap.
