Planning authority green lights mega Cork wind farm to power up to 80,000 homes

An Bord Pleanála has given the green light for a massive wind farm in County Cork, called Coom Green Energy Park.

ESB Ireland, Coillte and Ørsted received planning permission for their 121 MW project which will consist of up to 22 wind turbines.

The turbines will have a maximum height of 169 metres and a rotor diameter of 138 metres, while the site will also hold a 50 MW storage battery.
