Aer Lingus has been accused of stoking “fear, uncertainty and doubt” among pilots in an escalating row over pay.

The airline last week wrote directly to its 784 pilots warning them that IAG, its parent company, will not invest further in it unless pilots agree to a pay deal that has been the subject of a dispute for more than a year.
