Peter Mullan will be the new chief executive of the national planning authority when it is rebranded as An Coimisiún Pleanála.

The new Planning and Development Bill 2023, which government expect to pass before the summer recess, has proposed a series of changes to the planning authority’s senior management structure.

The organisation is currently run by the chairperson of its board, but under the new planning laws, this role will be split.
