Penneys topped €693 million in Irish sales last year

In the accounts the company said it plans to invest over €250 million in Ireland over the next nine years

The company paid dividends of €475 million for the 12 month period, up from zero dividends the prior year.

Primark Limited, which trades as Penneys, reported a turnover of €693.1 million from its Irish retail sales in the 12 months to the end of September last year.

This was up from €482.2 million the prior year, as trading recovered from Covid-19, according to accounts just filed.

However, sales were down 4 per cent compared to 2019, the last full financial year before the pandemic.
