An average audience of 830,000 people tuned in live to watch Patrick Kielty’s Late Late Show debut, according to new figures from RTÉ.

The Co Down presenter - joined by a slew of familiar faces, including comedian Tommy Tiernan, former President Mary McAleese and RTÉ 2fm hosts The 2 Johnnies - took his first spin around the Studio 4 set on Friday night to broadly positive reviews.
