The government needs to invest in a significant overhaul of its training and education system if it is to address the growing skills shortage in the economy, the head of an Irish education-technology company has said.

Brendan Nevin, chairman of the Code Institute, a Dublin-based online learning company, said the state should target cohorts of the workforce for retraining with skills of the future.
