Oral hearing into €9.5bn MetroLink on track for February

MetroLink plan to include 16 stations and serve residential communities in Dublin such as Swords, Ballymun and Glasnevin

A total of €300 million has been spent on various Metro project proposals for Dublin to date, with construction work yet to take place.

An oral hearing into the €9.5 billion MetroLink project for Dublin will begin on February 19, An Bord Pleanála has confirmed.

The planning authority has informed stakeholders in recent days who had made written submissions in relation to the project that the hearing would commence in six weeks time at the Gresham Hotel on O’Connell Street.

A planning application for the MetroLink was submitted to the board by Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) in September 2022.
