Union heads and government officials are facing late night talks to on a new public sector pay deal before ballots for “widespread industrial action” are prepared tomorrow.

The last pay deal, Building Momentum, lapsed on December 31, leaving the government negotiating with no industrial peace clauses to protect from strike action.
