Simon Coveney, the Minister for Enterprise, has backed three Fine Gael TDs who called for a €1,000 tax break for middle-income earners in this year’s Budget and said they were simply “outlining Fine Gael policy”.

The Fine Gael Minister was responding to a recent op-ed written by three Fine Gael junior ministers who called for a full-time worker on a wage of €52,000 to get €1,000 back in tax relief in the next Budget.
