New mortgage agreements fell 31 per cent month on month in March, according to new data from the Central Bank of Ireland (CBI).

The total volume of pure new mortgage agreements amounted to €732 million in March, down 31 per cent on February.

It comes as the European Central Bank continues to increase interest rates.
