Michael Murphy, managing director of New Ireland, has informed senior management that he intends to leave the bank.

The head of Bank of Ireland’s life insurance and pensions division has announced his intention to leave the group.

Michael Murphy, managing director of New Ireland, the lender’s wealth, pensions and insurance arm, recently informed senior management that he intended to leave the bank to pursue other interests after seven years in charge.

Murphy will continue to lead New Ireland until an interim appointment is made.
