National Lottery’s card marked over claim that 90% of lotto money ‘goes back to communities’

Advertising watchdog told The National Lottery it must be clearer with its claims about how much money it is giving back to communities following complaints from a Dáil committee

The National Lottery has been told to be clearer with its claims about how much money “goes back into the community” following a complaint to the advertising watchdog by the Oireachtas public accounts committee.

In 2022, a television advertisement by the National Lottery, managed by Premier Lotteries Ireland, said “that 90 per cent of National Lottery money goes back into the community”.
