National Children’s Hospital cost jumps by €500m to top €2.2bn

The cost of the National Children’s Hospital has soared yet again by €500 million, bringing the total cost to nearly €2.24 billion, the Department of Health has confirmed.

The news marks the latest setback for the delayed and over-budget project, which Stephen Donnelly, the minister for health, said was 90 per cent complete in August last year. The project is now on track to be completed mid-2025, the government said.
