More than quarter of money spent betting in Ireland is by problem gamblers, according to ESRI study

New figures from the ESRI indicate that problem gambling in Ireland is far more widespread than previously known.

The study was commissioned by the newly established Gambling Regulatory Authority of Ireland and estimates that one in 30 adults in Ireland are problem gamblers – ten times higher than a previous study from 2019.
